When I got in trouble as a child an adult would ask me, “Who are your parents? Whose child are you?” You are a Becker, aren’t you? You look just like your brothers. John said it is obvious who are born again. It is obvious our Father is God in heaven in how we love righteousness. What motivates us to continue to live a righteous life is Christ’s return. We want to be confident at Jesus’ appearing. We do not want to shrink back in shame at His appearing, so we practice righteousness diligently. We do not keep on sinning. We are children of God not children of the devil.
