Community Outreach

"But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare".

Jeremiah 29:7

We initiate and partner with others using the gifts and talents of our people that will impact individuals as their lives are transformed by the gospel and will impact the community in which we live so that our entire culture is renewed. This includes being at peace with others, caring for the poor, and addressing issues of oppression.

Each summer, we host a community based Vacation Bible School and continue to engage the immediate community in the Fall with Trunk or Treat events on the front lawn.

New City has a thriving Developmental Mercy Ministry lead by our Diaconate, regularly prepares and delivers meals to the Brisben Homeless Shelter and recently hosted a meal packaging event with Rise Against Hunger, a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies.

We want to be a church that is not only planted but firmly rooted in the community. Our roots are tapped into the living water that Jesus gives, our only hope in this life and the one to come. Knowing our neighbors and meeting their physical needs offers opportunities to talk about Jesus and introduce them to the One who meets our spiritual needs.
We are also privileged to house ministries and groups such as local Homeschool Co-ops, the Christian Youth Theater, BLEND FXGB which provides English as a Second Language (ESL) courses and the Rappahannock Area Regional Adult Education (RARAE) which specializes in adult education.
