When Jesus prays, “Your Kingdom come,” it is easy to think God’s kingdom is only future. His kingdom is coming, but it also existed in the past and is in the present. Jesus is God’s kingdom and He brought God’s kingdom. “His kingdom come” means such things as people repenting of sin and committing themselves to do His will instead of their own. It is to be pursued above all else by being constantly dependent upon God. We pray for His kingdom to be fully established on earth in its fullness. We pray He will bring others into His kingdom through us. The Lord’s Prayer asks Our Father for far more than we realize.
