God is sovereign over history, and he will use it to preserve His remnant. Those like Assyria and Babylon that seek to wipe out God’s people will be brought low while His people will be made pure and confident. The Messiah, Jesus Christ, will transform and bring peace to the world. As Jesus has said, “I will draw all people to myself.” Isn’t that what the Christmas season is about? We cannot rejoice to the fullest regarding Jesus’ first coming simply based on what we celebrate during Christmas, but also what we celebrate on Easter.
