We are by nature fearful, anxious, and worrisome. Sin makes us believe this is all there is. The only one who can take care of me is me. Yet if we trust in our heavenly Father, we will not worry. Why? We then know for certain our Father cares for us. If He cares for birds and even the flowers of the field, will He not care more for us? We are made in His image. When we seek His kingdom and righteousness first, what we need comes to us effortlessly and without anxiety. We know this truth more as we study His Word more. We see more clearly His nature; a nature which cares for His people and has infinite power to provide for their needs.
