Can we never judge others? Who is Jesus teaching about proper judgment of others? He is teaching His disciples. He is warning us against judging our brothers and sisters in Christ too harshly. He teaches us to judge ourselves first before judging other Christians. We are to take the log out of our eye before removing the speck in our brother’s eye. It is a question of clearly seeing the fault of our brother or sister which cannot be done when we have unrepentant sin in our own lives. Jesus is not forbidding all judging since in the next verse He tells us not to cast pearls before pigs. Knowing when and how to judge others must come by following both Scripture and the Holy Spirit.
