Sermon Text: 1 Peter 5:6-11

Sermon Title: “Life Under the Mighty Hand of God”  (Jim Womer)  

Summary:

Peter concludes his letter to the church in Asia minor by urging them to humble themselves under “the mighty hand of God.” In the Exodus account, variations of this phrase are used to convey the power that God manifested in rescuing his people from Egypt. It is far better to live a life of humility under God’s powerful hand (even if it means suffering persecution) than it is to be outside of his care. Through all of life’s trials, we can cast our anxieties on him because he cares for us and because he is mighty to deliver us.
