Sermon Title: “The Inheritance”    (Pastor Bob)

Sermon Text: Joshua 13:1 - 19:51

Summary:

Joshua 1-12 describes the conquest of Canaan. Joshua 13-24 describes the division of the land. There is another way to describe what happens in Joshua 13-24. It is the possession of what was promised to Abraham. It is the possession of the inheritance promised to God’s people. The only problem is, the nation of Israel never possessed their inheritance completely due to their disobedience. Yet, God is faithful even in the midst of our unfaithfulness. The true Israel, made up of Jews and Gentiles, receive the full inheritance promised to Abraham, due to Jesus’ obedience. We possess it day in and day out as we believe God and act on that belief.
