Sermon Text: Joshua 24:1-33

Sermon Title: “Choose This Day!” (Pastor Bob)

Summary:

Some preachers title Joshua 24, “Joshua’s Last Sermon.” Like chapter 23, it is a charge to choose rightly. Joshua sums up his life as one of making one choice after another, and each time choosing to serve the LORD. Though the people of God said, “Far be it from us that we should forsake the LORD to serve other gods,” Joshua seems to detect some insincerity. He seems to wonder if they are taking His charge to keep choosing the LORD too lightly. Are they responding with the belief, “They can do it?” Are they forgetting already only God Himself can keep them faithful? Are we making the same mistake?
