Sermon Text - Genesis 17

Sermon Summary -

I can remember starting my first job out of college. I was sat down in a small room, given a bunch of paperwork and had all of the rules and expectations explained to me. They gave me a badge and a locker then exclaimed that I was now an employee of one of the best media companies in the world. I was proud and scared at the same time. While my emotions were running high, I bet why what I experienced was nothing compared to what Abraham experiences in Genesis 17. He has just been told that he has been adopted into God’s family and that he will be father to the greatest family in the history of the world. Can you imagine? Well, if you have believed in Jesus, you too are included in Abraham’s mighty promise.

Meditation - Genesis 15:5B-6 - "Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” And Abraham believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness.
