During this first week of Advent, it is important to remember God does not and never has had a plan B. His plan A from eternity past was to send his Son Jesus to die for our sins. There are plenty of hymns that speak of the coming of the Promised Messiah. One such hymn is “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” or “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” Jesus came at the appointed time and that truth should remind us that God fulfills his promises. Just as He fulfilled his promise concerning Jesus’ first coming, He will see to it that Jesus will return at the appointed time.
