Sermon Text: 2 Kings 1:9-18

Summary: 

What does it mean to be a truly good soldier? To what extent should a soldier be loyal? Can a soldier ever be too obedient? At what point should a soldier surrender? 2 Kings 1 presents us with three groups of soldiers who are torn between following their King or following their God. In his last triumph of faith, Elijah answers these questions for all time and makes it clear that we are to follow God above all earthly authorities. Which choice would you make?
