Sermon Title: Embracing Other Believers

Sermon Summary: A dramatic change occurs in Acts 9. The chapter begins with Saul being sent out of Jerusalem to persecute Christians. In our passage, we see Saul return to Jerusalem as a Christian himself. God has dramatically changed his life. This change confounds the Jews, but is also confusing to church in Jerusalem. How can a man who was a great persecutor of the church now be a part of the church? The Christians were understandably scared of Saul, but Barnabas brought him to the apostles and spoke to them on Saul’s behalf. We cannot be surprised about who God saves and as believers we must be welcoming to all of God’s people. We must seek others like Barnabas did and be willing to advocate for other believers. Christ is our example. He has sought us is our advocate to the Father.
