NCF's "The Sunday Sermon" - May 7, 2023

The first three petitions refer to the worship of God. We are to approach Him in prayer with reverence and awe, with a deep sense we are coming to adore Him. The last three petitions call us to pray for our physical, mental, and spiritual needs. Paul says in Phil 4:19: “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” God delights to answer those who come to Him through Jesus Christ calling Him, Father! We can pray for our daily bread because God cares for our bodies. I like what James Boice says, “It is not simply a soul salvation, it is a whole salvation—body, soul, and spirit. We trust our Father one day at a time to give us what we need for that day.
