Sermon Text: Joshua 23:1-16

Sermon Title: “Forget Not The Right Priorities” (Pastor Bob)

Summary:

Before Joshua passed the torch to a new generation of God’s people, he gives the people a charge. He tells them to remember what God has done. So much of religion and even Christianity today makes faith a matter of our subjective feelings concerning God, Jesus, and the Church. We forget our faith is strengthened by knowing and acting on what God has done and has promised to do for His people. Our feelings must be grounded on knowledge, not the other way around. Joshua reminds the people of God that they (and we) are called to obedience, to love God, and as we will see next week, to choose this day to serve our God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
