Jesus: King at Birth and Forever

Sermon Text: Matthew 2:1-18

Sermon Summary:

I hope that you all had a Merry Christmas! Sometime after the first Christmas, the Magi arrived to worship Jesus. In the process they alerted Herod, a wicked king who was desperate to retain the power that he had worked to gain through politics and violence. In contrast, this passage shows us that Jesus was king at his birth. Jesus showed during his time on earth that he was indeed the true king of a spiritual kingdom. The good news is that he reigns today and forever. Like the Magi, the fact that Jesus is King should lead us to worship him.
