Sermon Summary:
What’s in a name? Our text this week tells us that believers were first called Christians in Antioch. A new name is fitting because God was doing something new in Antioch. In Antioch, the Gospel was proclaimed to the Greeks and “a great number who believed turned to the Lord”. When the Jerusalem church heard of what was going on in Antioch, they sent Barnabas to check it out. When Barnabas saw the grace of God, he was glad. Like Barnabas, we need to recognize God’s grace at work in others, be glad about what God is doing, and invite others to join in.
