Sermon Text: 1 Peter 4:7-11

Summary:

The church in Asia Minor was living in the final days that began with Christ’s death and resurrection. We too are living in these final days. Peter tells them (and us) what living in the last days should look like in the life of the believer. We should be self-controlled and sober minded leading to prayerfulness. We should love our brothers and sisters earnestly, show hospitality to one another, and use our God given gifts to serve one another. Knowing that we are living in the last stage of God’s redemptive process should motivate us. As we await Christ’s return, we should not be complacent, but should instead build community.
