NCF's "The Sunday Sermon" - April 2, 2023
God’s love does not discriminate. He extends it to the just and unjust. We are to do the same. We are called to not just love those who love us, but even those who hate us, our enemies. If we only love those who love us, how is that different from unbelievers? Even when others discourage us from loving someone, we are called to still love that person. Where do we see such love? We see it in Jesus’ willingness to go to the cross for you and me! Jesus died for the unrighteous. He died for His enemies. We are not called to like everyone, but as Jesus’ disciples we are called to love everyone. We are the closest thing unbelievers will ever come to Jesus Christ by seeing Christ love in us. Loving our enemy will heap burning coals on his head. He will be convicted by such powerful love and know Jesus Christ is the real deal.
